About Amy

I founded Prescient in 2017 to help leaders and organizations better anticipate the social, technological and geopolitical forces reshaping their world so they can compete more effectively. My tools are strategic foresight and the insights of storytelling.

I work with Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and civil society and community leaders. Through the Foresight Sandbox, a training program I founded in 2019, have helped build foresight capacity in dozens of public and private sector organizations. My practice is sector-agnostic—I have worked across fields from from business to agriculture to law and national security. But the goal is always the same: to give people the skills, knowledge and courage to transform their organizations to meet the needs of the future for a future that is just, inclusive, plentiful and joyful.

Previously, I led Deloitte’s strategic foresight portfolio for government and public services, and helped build its counter-malign influence business, served as President and CEO of the World Future Society, and was the inaugural Chair of Information Integration at the U.S. National War College, where I developed the College’s first curriculum preparing future senior government and military leaders to understand information and influence as dimensions of national power. I was also a professor of Strategic Foresight at Georgetown University’s Communication, Culture and Technology program.

My Ph.D. in Modern Arabic Literature is from New York University and I also hold a Masters of Fine Arts from Cornell. I advise graduate research at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and serve as a Trustee of the International Futures Forum.

“I looked to find someone who not only had done work in uncertain circumstances, but who brought a discipline to the approach.

With that said, I could not have been more happy with the level of thought partnership and original ideas that Amy brought into the project…the project itself was seen as an extreme success and it could not have been done without the partnership of Amy. ”

Foresight curious?

Strategic foresight teaches the skill of anticipation and an appreciation for uncertainty as a source of advantage, not something to fear. If you'd like to explore what working together could look like, I hope you'll drop me a line.
